Can I Use Concrete Primer on Wood?
Generally not recommended — concrete primer is formulated for masonry's alkalinity and porosity, not wood's, and using a wood-appropriate primer instead avoids a real mismatch in what each product is actually built to address.

Wood doesn't carry the alkaline chemistry that makes masonry primer's specific formulation necessary — using a product engineered to neutralize an alkalinity issue that isn't present on wood in the first place doesn't provide any real benefit, and the primer's other formulation choices (aimed at masonry's texture and porosity) aren't optimized for wood's actual surface characteristics.
3. What wood actually needs from a primer

For a project spanning both wood and masonry (a mixed-material exterior trim detail, for instance), a multi-surface primer explicitly rated for both materials is the more appropriate choice than repurposing a single-material product across a surface it wasn't designed for — checking a specific primer's labeled surface compatibility list directly is the reliable way to confirm it's actually suited to every material involved in a mixed project.
